Ole' A Spanish Celebration

Ole' is a celebration of all that is Spanish. A country of outstanding natural beauty and a wealth of culture is reflected in the 2008 theme.                                                                                                            

Inspiration has been taken from the one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, Pablo Picasso. His Don Quixote series from the backdrop of flags that line the procession. Antonio Gaudi, renowned world over for his mosaics and the Sagrada Familia from the tapestry of colour for the Moko Jumbies' and entire production.

The magic and passion of the Flamenco takes to the streets of Notting Hill in the red section. Within this, the traditional songs and dance of the gypsies of Anadalusia will come to life in the grace and elegance of our very own Carmen.

Spain is the land of fiestas, and of these the bullrunning of Pamplona is one of the most spectaular sights. A charge of fierce bulls will take over the streets of London in a stampede of movement and dance, whilst, the most traditional of all Spanish fiestas, bullfighting will come to life with the matador puppets in all their courage and glory.
